Established in 1993, JOSE DE AVILA AND ASSOCIATES is a minority owned engineering firm dedicated to providing professional consulting electrical engineering services. We are a firm with high integrity and enthusiasm. Our staff’s key personnel have a minimum of 30 years of experience. Because of its experience and its expertise in the Chicago Electrical Code our firm was on the first team of the now well established Chicago permit review program in which independent architects and engineers review permit drawings for code compliance during the permitting process. JOSE DE AVILA AND ASSOCIATES participation in building projects is driven by the philosophy that excellence in any sector is provided through a high quality staff that is supported by stimulating and comfortable environments. We understand the direct impact that our designs have upon the activities of the staff and the patrons. Keeping them in mind, we provide designs for unobtrusive, efficient and quite electrical systems. Our designs include energy efficient lighting, normal and emergency power, Kronos timekeeping, voice and data telecommunications, closed circuit television, computer and video cabling, and fire alarm and intrusion detection systems in new and renovated buildings.

Jose deAvila, the firm's principal, brings vast knowledge to our organization, as a former Associate and Director of Engineering at Holabird & Root and a former Associate Partner at Skidmore Owings & Merrill. We enjoy the benefits of small firm quality control with large firm expertise. With a Masters in Business Administration, Mr. deAvila is keenly aware of the importance of cost control, coordination, schedule adherence and quality assurance and control. As the sole principal, he is naturally quite sensitive to the principles of management; he uses hands–on approach for each project.
